project description
Project takes place in two organisations; Espoo Youth Services and the Espoonlahti parish.

Espoo Youth Services provides activities in youth clubs, also for example in shopping centres, libraries and outdoor. Volunteering includes taking part in open youth work (9-17 years old) in one or two youth clubs. Volunteering includes working in groups, clubs and events, school visits, cultural events and organized trips. Volunteer can plan activities and create events with the support of professional youth workers. Working hours are mainly in the evenings and some weekends.

In the Espoonlahti parish two volunteers will get an insight into Lutheran child and youth work and work with young migrants and asylum seekers. The volunteer will be working in all the fields of child and youth work (evenings) and with families (mornings) including camps, groups, school visits and open door activities. A part of the volunteers’ tasks is to participate in running a church governed community center/Chapel.

accommodation, food and transport arrangements
All three volunteers live together in a rental apartment in Espoo. Apartment has a bathroom and a possibility to prepare food. Some dining may also happen in workplaces. Espoo has good public transport and also connections to our capital, Helsinki.

training during the project
Volunteers will have mentors and work leaders from both organizations who are prepared to support volunteers through their time here. Volunteers will also take part in arrival trainings organized by National Agency.
